Moroba established herself as a line producer at Dv8 Films where she was involved in films such as Shirley Adams (directed by Oliver Hermanus), Izulu Lami (directed by Madoda Ncayiyana) and Zimbabwe (directed by Darrell Roodt). Moroba co-produced State of Violence (directed by Khalo Matabane) with Dv8 Films. She later moved on to line produce Sleeper’s Wake with Bioskope Filmworks (directed by Barry Berk), and Layla Fourie (directed by Pia Marais), a German-South African co-production. She has produced for television, including the groundbreaking drama series Room 9 for SABC 1.

Moroba has also produced commercials and music videos across the African continent. She produced the major documentary feature film, Mandela’s Gun (directed by John Irvin), a South Africa-UK-Algeria co-production, which filmed across Africa (Algeria, Ethiopia, Botswana, Tanzania and South Africa) over three years. She also produced The Tribe (directed by Charlie Vundla). Moroba serves on the advisory panel of the National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF) and has been invited as a guest lecturer on Film Production at WITS University.

She sits on the boards of the Encounters South African International Documentary Festival and the SA Film Academy. Moroba’s strengths lie in production, budgeting, finance and cost analysis. She has produced and line produced films with financing from all the major funding institutions in South Africa; the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC), the Department of Arts and Culture (DAC), the National Lottery Distribution Trust Fund (NLDTF), the NFVF, SABC and the Gauteng Film Commission (GFC).

She understands both the requirements, financing structures and necessary production elements to be adhered to. Moroba has developed expertise in the development of projects, which entails both working with creative teams, and the structuring of the financial deals, including co-productions with a variety of organisations and companies. She has an understanding of the creative, production and financing elements of the film industry.

At Hollard Film Guarantors she oversaw the entire production process of feature films, documentaries and television series from financing to delivery, as the job entails a guarantee of delivery to the investors. In 2019 Moroba started Maru Film Services, a company that provides Completion Guarantees as well as Evaluation and Monitoring services for film and television productions. Moroba is passionate about film and television and thrives to make a meaningful contribution to the growing South African industry.

She holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Economics from the University of Cape Town.
