Justin Strydom
Justin Strydom is a South African actor who is well known to South African audiences for his performances in local television series, feature films, and short films. Justin has been in the film and entertainment industry for over 26 years and is probably most recognized as a SAFTA award-winning actor in South African daily drama’s like Isidingo, Generations, 7de Laan and High Rollers; During more than 26 years he has also built up a large body of work both as a writer, director, and producer has contributed to the development and production of almost 30 projects.
Justin has also been involved in training and development of some of South Africa’s new and emerging performance talents like Thabo Malema, Thomas Gumede, Litha Booi, Meren Reddy, Thapelo Mokoena, Mapula Mafole, Oros Mampofu, and many others during his tenure as head of Live Performance at AFDA in Johannesburg (2002 – 2004) and (2012 -2014).
Similarly, he has represented AFDA at numerous South African arts festival workshops. Whilst at AFDA, he attained his honours degree at AFDA Johannesburg (cum laude).
Justin is a passionate and committed performance lecturer and coach, who has inspired many young actors with his energy, honesty, and enthusiasm for the performing arts and his students. He is a very likable character, an excellent collaborator, and is well respected by both his colleagues, peers, and students.
