Dan Robbertse
Dan Robbertse is a graduate in BA Dramatic Arts (Hons) from Wits. At the beginning of this career, he worked backstage and in audience development at the Market Theatre before being appointed by Barney Simon and John Kani as Education Officer at the Market Theatre Laboratory (the education and development wing of the Market Theatre) in 1990, a position which he occupied until 2013.
During the ’90s, Dan worked extensively as a Cultural Activist.
Dan has toured internationally with stage productions including Titus Andronicus for the Royal National Theatre (UK) and The Story I Am About to Tell. He has appeared in over 50 Feature Films and Series, most recently – Black Sails, Kalushi and Rivonia: An Act of Defiance and Warrior.
Dan has been Lecturing in Live Performance at AFDA Johannesburg since 2016. He has also worked as a Dialogue Coach and Corporate Communications facilitator.
