Course Details:

Day 1:

1. Introduction of Robyn Scott, American Accent and Acting Training – Her method and how she works.
2. American Accent Training begins with an ear test with each actor.
3. Part A: Unconscious and Conscious Listening.
4. Finding your In Word.
5. Acting Training: Finding Your Emotional Hit along with Exercise.

Day 2:

1. American Accent Rules.
2. Musicality of accent.
3. Working on Actor’s Slate and their Introduction in said Accent.
4. Working together in class with Emotional Acting Techniques.

Day 3:

1. Actors attempt slate and Introduction in American Accent in class with notes.
2. Actors bring either a monologue or pair up with another actor to work on a piece together.
3. Working on the arc of a scene, the W’s-what, where, who, when. Having a secret and sitting in the truth of the emotion.

Day 4:

1. Rehearsing the acting pieces, either with or without the accent, depending on how truthful actors are within the accent.

Day 5:

1. Continuation of Rehearsals.

Day 6:

1. Shooting the pieces and Camera Ready.
