Makeup for Photography & Cinema

Fundamentals of makeup for filmmaking. Introduction to basic makeup, corrective makeup, character makeup. Importance of makeup in filmmaking. Make up to match character & scene. Core skills of special effects makeup. Basic beauty and lighting coordination. Facial anatomy. Colour theory for makeup. Exploring styles and techniques. Designing makeup for characters. Application techniques.

Each Course or module will be two weeks in length.

THEORY

The 1st week will involve an introduction to the theory with regards each specific module.

PRACTICE

The 2nd week will involve the physical production of a 3-minute film, by students organized in teams, which will be conceived, prepared, filmed and edited by themselves.

MENTORING

• These films and students will be mentored by the Tutors;
• Students will be encouraged to build up a body of work, both during and after their courses.
• Students will be encouraged to specialize from the beginning.
• And to form creative teams where they will learn to work in groups.
