Understanding crew and cast contracts
Course Overview
Students will receive an overview of the various components and processes involved in the coordination of film productions (including commercials). The course aims to introduce students to the production processes involved as well as the role the production department in each of these processes including the ability to identify and understand all key crew roles on set and the various departments on set, set protocols and etiquette, a more in-depth introduction to the production department and reporting lines, an introduction to basic scheduling and budgeting, handling of monies and being able to conduct a petty cash reconciliation, introduction to booking procedures for locations, studios, gear and equipment as well as production insurances, crew and cast contracts, cast coordination, location scouting and agreements, facilitation of technical recces and gear check protocols.
Lesson Overview
Students are introduced to the various crew and cast contracts involved in the film industry. Introduce to students to the different international guilds, talent and crew agencies and the process of booking cast and crew.
