Lesson Plan Objectives
Introducing students to standard gear and equipment (Mediavision) and booking procedures.
Course Overview
Students will receive an overview of the various components and processes involved in the coordination of film productions (including commercials). The course aims to introduce students to the production processes involved as well as the role the production department in each of these processes including the ability to identify and understand all key crew roles on set and the various departments on set, set protocols and etiquette, a more in-depth introduction to the production department and reporting lines, an introduction to basic scheduling and budgeting, handling of monies and being able to conduct a petty cash reconciliation, introduction to booking procedures for locations, studios, gear and equipment as well as production insurances, crew and cast contracts, cast coordination, location scouting and agreements, facilitation of technical recces and gear check protocols.
Lesson Overview
Students will get an opportunity to visit Mediavision and be shown the different categories for gear and equipment that can be used on a shoot. Students will also learn how to book out the gear and organise gear checks and return of gear after the shoots.
