An Insight of the Part-Time Combined Film course recently completed

At the International Film School Mauritius in St. Pierre, we recently hosted a two-week Combined Film Course that covered camera, grips, lighting, and sound. The course was taught by three industry professionals, Kenny Wong Sin, Anthony De Chalain, and Alex Joseph who shared their wealth of knowledge and experience with our eager students.

The course was designed to give students a comprehensive understanding of the different aspects of filmmaking, from camera work to sound design. During the first week, students learned the fundamentals of camera work, including framing, composition, and camera settings. They also gained an understanding of grip equipment and lighting, which are essential components of any film production.

The second week of the course focused on sound design, including sound recording, editing, and mixing. Students were taught how to capture and enhance sound to create a realistic and immersive film experience. Throughout the course, our students were given plenty of opportunities to practice their skills, both in the classroom and on location.

The highlight of the course was the final day, which was a full hands-on practical day where the students were divided into two teams and tasked with shooting a promotional video for the school. The students put their newly acquired skills to the test, working together to create a professional-quality video that showcased the beauty of our campus and the high-quality facilities we offer.

At the end of the course, our students received their certificates and left with a wealth of knowledge and practical experience, ready to take on new challenges in the world of film. The feedback we received from our students was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing their interest in taking part in other courses we offer in the near future.
