All you need to know about our current Combined Film-Course at our film school in Mauritius
The combined-film course is a combination of camera, grips, lighting, and sound. It provides students with a comprehensive overview of the camera department. Students are given an introduction to the basics of motion picture cameras including their latest associated technology. An all-encompassing overview of how to use Grip equipment is taught, as well as Lighting for a film set, allowing students to use their learnt skills on a professional film set afterwards. Sound is also covered in the course where, onset audio recording is taught using sound mixers, sound recorders, the various types of microphones and other sound equipment that is needed on set.
Throughout the course, students are introduced to technical interactive sessions and have practical experiences with access to professional film equipment.
The Combined Film-Course is tutored by Kenny Wong Sin on Camera, Grips & Lighting and Anthony de Chalain on Sound. Based from Cape Town, Kenny is inspired by cross-cultural experiences through filmmaking, is passionate about visual storytelling and keeps up with the latest cinematic technological innovation. Kenny has worked throughout the ranks within the camera department on numerous films, commercials, and documentaries.
Certified from AFDA, Anthony de Chalain is a sound designer, sound mixer, boom operator and editor and has worked on several commercials, Feature films and TV Series for various international productions.
Students participating in our part-time course over 10 days walk out afterwards with the right amount of knowledge and skills to work in a professional film set and kick start their career to start making money.
