AI for Filmmakers: New Artificial Intelligence Course in Mauritius

Artificial intelligence is changing every department of filmmaking, from previsualisation and script breakdowns to editing, visual effects and marketing. That is why the International Film School Mauritius now offers a dedicated course: AI (Artificial Intelligence), taught by Prof. Dr. Dirk Kleine.

What the course covers

The course gives filmmakers, content creators and media professionals a practical, hands-on introduction to AI tools that are already used in real productions. Rather than theory alone, students work with the tools directly and learn where AI genuinely saves time — and where the craft still belongs to people.

You will explore how AI supports development and pre-production, how generative tools fit into a post-production pipeline, and how working professionals keep creative control while using them. The course suits both newcomers to the industry and experienced crew who want to stay ahead.

The details

The course costs EUR 650 and runs at our film studio campus in Rivière du Rempart, with monthly intakes available through December 2027. Like every IFSM course, it is taught in English, all equipment and software access is provided, and a certificate is awarded on completion. International Film School Mauritius is accredited by the Mauritius Qualifications Authority (MQA).
